Hello,
I have a problem with my contacts and the ideal thing would be to disable the Samsung contacts on my Samsung phone and only use Google Contacts but I don't know how to do it!
I have far too many contacts and only want a fraction of them to appear on my phone and it used to be wonderful because I had a Google group called "phone". I used to click on that and only those would come into view.
Now they have altered it all and I can choose "all contacts" only. That means I get Skype/WhatsApp/Facebook and everyone I have ever sent an email to in my whole life!
I have an A6 phone.
Can anyone help me?

If you go into Contacts and select Groups you should find your Gmail and Samsung groups listed separately. My Samsung list is empty so I don't know what you do after that. Hopefully this may be of some help.
To merge the same people into one contact you select one of them, select i (Details) and then select Manage Linked Contacts. This allows you to link a number of similar contacts down to 1.
As a last resort just Google, Merging duplicate phone contacts on Samsung galaxy A6 and watch the videos.

I have sorted it out now! I went into the systems apps and found contacts storage (different from contacts) and played around with that - could not tell you what I did but it worked.0
