Looking after friends young child

As her parent in a coma What financial help is there for us looking after her daughter as we are between work etc too and running back amd forth hospital too.

May be worth giving these charities a ring - if they can't help directly they may know of other sources of help.
May be worth getting a benefit check for yourselves to ensure you are getting all you should be.
Can the hospital refer you to an emergency fund / local charity.

There is usually a welfare officer in hospitals. At the very least they'll know the best agency to approach. Ask the Ward Clerk.0
