Leaving rented property checkout/deposit

I've recently left a property after a 5 year let Friday 30th. My estate agents have advised that they don't need to chase the deposit for 10 working days. Does anyone know if this is correct as my understanding is 10 days to return, not working days to chase?
I'm also yet to be invited to a check out which the estate agent intends to charge me £120 for. Is there a timeframe on this being completed?
Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

My understanding is that an agency can charge you for the check out but are not obliged to invite you to it.It is usually done without the tenant being present and I believe they have 10 days to complete the check out inventory.
You and the LL will then be advised of any deductions the agent feels necessary in comparison with the check in inventory and it is then up to you ,the agent and the LL to agree these before the deposit is returned.
If you are unhappy with any of the deductions these should be raised as a dispute via the holding agency that retains your deposit someone like the DPS.
I am a LL but do not use an agent so cant be exactly clear on each ones individual interpretation and time frames for check out.in S 38 T 2 F 50

You can only be charged for the check out if you agreed to this charge upfront - usually by signing a tenancy agreement with the charge specified.
You do not have to be invited to the inspection. In fact it is rare that this happens.
Take photos before you leave.
You can make a single claim to the deposit scheme at any time. The landlord then has to respond or if he does not the deposit will be returned to you.
Read the deposit scheme guidance!0
