Parking for Work

How is parking on someones driveway dodgy? Would you prefer to park on a street where the thieves know that workers will park and be gone for many hours?
Parking on a driveway makes it appear someone is home, so may protect the home and the car.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The roads within a close walking distance of UHCW tend to be residents parking permits. There's a pub nearby which has slightly cheaper parking than the hospital car parks but you might not want to leave your car there for the out of hours shifts.
There are also frequently times when the visitors car parks are full and you have to wait a good while to get onto site and park.
Parking further away and bussing or cycling it is probably the cheaper longer term option.
There is the Caludon mental health unit on the same grounds which is free parking at the moment although they're also talking about permits as it's not meant to be for UHCW staff. You won't get on there during the day as it's only small and managed by a parking attendant at busy times with cars double parked but you may well do evening or overnight.
ETA - there'll be side streets further away you could probably park in but it depend how far you'd be willing to walk. And then possibly less safe than leaving the car on someone's drive, depending on the time of day.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I would agree that some form of DIY park and ride is the best solution and paying somebody for their driveway spot seems reasonable to me as it can be a win-win situation (or as mentioned above, park & cycle or similar)0

Apparently there is permits available for staff who work nights, weekends, or both. The problem is when I'm working normal office hours I'll have to pay full price.
If you can get an out of hours permit then you won't be paying £200 a month anyway. What proportion of your shifts will be normal office hours? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
