    Morning all
    Another grey day weatherwise :(
Today we will be putting up the tree and decorations, but I shall have to be stern with Mr Fix It or the house will look like Santa's Grotto :o. At least now we don't have the decs hanging from the ceiling . Mind you he really does look like Santa, as he has a white beard ( which needs trimming ) and is quite portly :santa2::rotfl:. I would like, just once, to have a elegant house ( sigh )
Nothing much else will be done today and I don't have to cook any tea as we are going to a Mexican restaurant this evening to celebrate DD's birthday, yesterday :j. I hope there is something non spicy or non cheesey for me to eat, but apparently the puddings are amazing. So perhaps I can have puddings for mains and pudding for pudding IYSWIM :rotfl:.
Right I'm going to empty the DW now, before we tackle the house.

TA I hope you can enjoy tonight, as I'm sure Bob would want you to enjoy watching the DGDs.
-taff I'm angry on your behalf, you shouldn't have to nurse yourself.
JackieO please send me some of your energy :D.
RedRuby what a conundrum. Perhaps in future you could get her to sign a receipt to say that she has been paid.
Organza Lace glad they listened. I have been allergic to tobacco and other things since I was diagnosed at 6. It is not pleasant to take in others 2nd hand smoke. Hope you get better now.
Gers I hope your DM feels a little better today.
Holly and Poppy sending gentle hugs your way.

Sending hugs to anyone who is under the weather, worried or fed up with things at present.
    Take care all

Bit calmer this morning. Still annoyed though. I wrote a really long post and then I deleted it because I thought, well, tmi, and I don't want to scare anyone else....
Going to make custard in a minute for the trifle, the mince pies came out like overcooked UFOs, left them in too long, the sausage rolls look good though [ and taste good too], I'd recommend my own recipe of chuck together sausage meat, black pudding, onion powder, thyme, mace and mustard. Nom.
House has been hoovered to within an inch of it's life and mopped [ bought the new one yesterday].
Have also discovered that muscle weakness and aches and pains are another side effect, so goodie, I am not falling apart, it's just the SE again...
Visitors today and for the weekend, they are also bringing copious amounts of food to put in the freezer, my sister is a mensch, she's so good to me.

Congratulations to the TV appearances even if they were fleeting :) Ilona, was it trucks or old style related? Loving the carols tru...OL, good! Wee Midgie, I'll have to phone, but then I'll end up with Cerberus the Receptionist who guards the gates of hell....will ask my friend who's a wound nurse somewhere else to see what she can suggest. Oh Hester, I feel for you, as far as Christmas is concerned, I love it, not the shopping part, the twinkly lights and carols and films. It's aWonderful Life and Scrooged are must sees. Youre welcome to come round and watch at mine if you like :) Hope the optivians goes well Gers and you are over the infection. redruby, yep, doubly annoying when you know you are being honest. They probably just forgot...and might be feeling silly or aggrieved. Happy decorating nanny..Wotcha Poppy.
Happy weekend to come if possible :)

redruby, if you don't want to get a receipt text her next time then you have a record if it happens again.
  • Morning Just ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Late posting today, we have been round to the chapel for breakfast, will not need anything else until supper time and we have left overs for that, some smoked salmon sandwiches and quiche to eat up, will do a tomato and celery salad to go with it.

We had a lot of rain overnight, but we have blue skies and sun for the time being at least. Its a bitterly cold though.

Just 2 mats now to do, might get them done today, depends how I feel.

No Christmas spirit here either, I might decorate the window cill but thats all and it will be away on Boxing day.
  • Afternoon all, Internet decided to be patchy so unable to post earlier. No idea why.

The usual Saturday here, OH has done the shopping and put away most of it, I've done some washing, changed the bedlinen, tidied round a bit and will Hoover later. I'm stuck on the Times crossword again, this is due to lack of brain and not the intrinsic difficulty of the crossword I'm afraid.

Went for meal with former colleagues last night, it was great to see them though I do see some regularly anyway. The food was good but not special but the staff were really good even though they were busy. Unfortunately it was very drafty or draughty (sp? ) and I even ended up taking my hair down out of its bun and wrapping it round my neck for warmth which I think indicates the coldness.

Taff, I do hope you are able to get sone support lined up, this all sounds quite wrong to me.

TA I think the performance may be bittersweet for you, it is one of those firsts, always difficult.

Gers, hope your mum has a better day.

Thinking of all those who are struggling for whatever reason.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

*Pops in and waves* Nothing interesting to say really, but don't want you to think I've died.

Taff it sounds like you and Mr Fix It are well suited as he likes Scrooged too, but I don't. I prefer the musical version with Albert Finney. " Thank you very much, thank you very much...... ". In that light "what time shall I send him round ? You'll know it's him because he'll be wearing his Santa hat" :rotfl:

Hi LameWolf I have nothing of interest to say either, but that doesn't stop me rabbiting on :rotfl:. Please don't be a stranger as I for one, am interested in how other people live day to day. ( but then I'm just plain nosey ! :p:D )

It was Old Style related, nobody asks about the trucking these days, although I have got a talk booked for February for the Probus.

The message I wanted to get across was that you don't have to go into debt for Christmas, don't buy presents if you cant afford them. The presenter brought some cheap tat along, fancy gift wrapping, plastic wreath, and other paraphenalia that people buy. I suggested alternatives like make your own gifts and decorations, and re usable cloth drawstring bags instead of paper and sellotape.

People have told me that it was very good, but too short. They cut it down to two minutes so not enough time really. I might get to see it one day.

    I love skip diving.
