providing that the driver had some connection to either hastings direct, premier inn or pure gym i dont think that sign would apply.

Entirely your decision after your own risk assessment. No one should condemn you for that, although most of us would disagree with your decision.
  • Hi Orange86,

I have had a fine for the same thing in the same car park. What was the outcome, did you appeal?

    Thanks

That is quite likely, but PoPLA decisions are often hugely partial towards the PPC, who pay teir costs, and are not enforceable anyway It is what a judge sys which matters, and judges are not fools, they can recognise a scam when they see one, and they see several of these bogus claims a day.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
