Faulty Meter resulted in overcharging

Hi,
was your monthly increase because of previous estimated bills, or to pay arrears?0 -
I wonder if there is more than one issue here.
Your consumption is very low - about half the average (of about 3000 kwh a year) How are you determining the daily consumption? Are you reading the in house supply or the meter itself - my meter has a decimal point which is very easy to miss. The reading in October would have been 00000.0 - what is it now ?
As Frugal has said - was the bill in January a big catch up perhaps following a visit by a meter reader or a reading taken by yourself ? Have a close look at the bill - were the previous readings Estimated and the present one Actual.
You have described your gas consumption as minimal but is it ? Could you post your actual consumption - don't forget that to get a consumption in kwh from gas meter readings your need to multiply by 11.22 as the meter records in m3Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
