What type of buildings/contents insurance to use when your offspring lives in a property you own?

I'm asking this on behalf of my Mother.
I live in property owned by her that she inherited from her Mother when she died.
I don't pay rent but I look after all her affairs - financial and all property maintenance and purchases etc.
I do earn income from my own property where I used to live but I've moved near to her to support her.
Can only find one insurance company "Aviva" that allows you to be a relative living in an owners property. Some agencies class it as landlord insurance which Aviva does whilst others class it as a second home but my Mother hasn't lived in here since the 70s when it belonged to her Mother. I'm concerned that incorrect explanation or choices on online comparison sites would class the insurance as null & void if a claim was required.
I would like to compare Aviva renewal quotes with other companies but don't know how as the comparable websites don't allow for this seemingly unusual scenario where there is no tenancy agreement /income earning occupant who is a relative but not employed.
Are there other companies to compare Aviva with for a family member living in your property (not same property owner lives in) rent in kind only?

As your scenario is slightly 'non standard' (in reality it's fine, but it doesn't fit the forms) contact a local broker (not Swinton) who will be happy to help.
I presume you're arranging buildings insurance in the name of the owner (i.e. your mother) and contents insurance in your name?0 -
We had that situation recently.
Building insurance has to be in the owner's name, and our home insurer said this needed landlord's insurance.
Contents insurance for landlord's items - eg furnished accommodation, can be on the landlord's insurance.
Occupant's personal items need separate insurance in the occupier's name. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Thank you for your suggestions and questions to get me to be more specific.
Just had another word with Aviva and it's not landlord insurance - it's marked as let property so it's difficult to compare. Will try other brokers but ones I've tried in past at that stage couldn't class it as anything or nearest was landlord insurance. Might be worthwhile trying again in case their range of variables have changed.
I have left contents as hers as in reality most furnishings are hand me overs or hand me downs.0
