Bit of an odd one ...
An old friend was convinced by her daughter to take out 'finance' for some replacement DG windows on her property...
She remembers the amount to be around £45,000 !
But she is very vague as to whether this was a part grant or an equity release type thing, I cannot find any paperwork at her home...
Would it be possible for her to find out if there is a lien on her property or even a worse scenario of Lifetime mortgage thingy ?
She was in a not good place mentally when she was persuaded to sign this, as her husband had recently died...

If the property is registered you can go to the Land Registry website and buy a copy of the title register for £3 which will show any charges/mortgages etc.
If it’s not registered then she could approach the local council and pay for a local land charges search which will reveal certain types of charges.0
