Same reason there is not a million sub forums on many other subjects. You draw the line somewhere.
And lets see how many threads there are on the subject, and then ignore any that open/dragged up from the past by spammers/scammers and the number of interested parties is fairly small.

You might be right on this board, but there are in fact quite a lot of threads about cryptocurrencies in the financial sections, usually where somebody has been dealing and their bank has frozen or closed their account because they are suspected of money laundering. However, there is certainly no need for a separate sub-forum, other than having one would separate all that nonsense from the real world questions that people are asking.0 -
Too expensive to set up, too niche, and financial gain or loss can be realized. No Real currency standard, and many promote their own coin types.
There was a post here saying one punter with many other genuine posts claim they make money, but fluctuations in exchange rates, hardware and electrical costs make it questionable risk/reward.
Also think this forum and the people here do not represent the young, techie market who would purchase ASIC miners, and take the risk. More about people paying for stuff, and paying stuff off
If I were into this I would look elsewhere, and find a group where I could get ideas and bounce ideas off, like reddit or possibly maybe 8chan etc, and the descussion would not run out of steam0 -
Try the Savings and Investments board - there's been quite a number of posts on there about various Crypto-Currencies.0

Crypto is a bit Wild West still. Until it is properly regulated it is a bit risky for MSE to be promoting things that may vanish the next day.0
