Met parking services

Hi there everyone

I am a parking ticket newbie. I have had a read of the required section but am feeling quite confused and wondered if someone could kindly point me in the right direction.

Me and my hubby have two parking tickets from Met parking services for parking on a nearby estate.

Mine is still at £100 but they are chasing me. Annoyingly I did write to them as I was convinced I was in the right. They didn’t agree. So they know my name and address. Should I just ignore their 2nd letter?

2nd ticket was my other half. It’s now at debcollector stage. He hasn’t contacted them at all. Should he continue to ignore it?

Thanks all, having generally a really !!!! time so would really appreciate a quick pointer.

Thanks again

You are in the debt collectors stage over both tickets

See #4 in the newbies FAQ thread

You ignore everything except a lbcca or Court correspondence

If it comes to this then come back at that time for advice on how to defend a court claim

If you are within 28 days of the original parking ticket, you appeal your ticket using the initial appeal template in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1, then get your POPLA Code and subsequently appeal to them to get this killed off (assuming you are the registered keeper of this particular vehicle).

As your husband is at debt collector stage, he ignores anything further that comes to him, particularly debt collector letters, unless he receives a LBC or MCOL Claim from MET or their solicitors (acronyms in NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #5) - come back if he gets either. MET currently issue court proceedings, but they do have 6 years to pursue through the court. (This assumes a different vehicle to the one you are dealing with above, and your husband is the registered keeper of this one).
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
