Marcus bank account - can I close it and open a new one

I've signed up to the Marcus by Goldman Sachs account today and really not impressed that the account you link to the Marcus account seemingly cannot be changed. I would have thought you'd be able to alternate linked accounts!
As a consequence of this, I cant deposit funds from my preferred account. I'm thinking of closing the account down and then opening a new one. Is there any risk on my credit score if I do this? If so I'll just bin it off altogether and discourage anybody else from opening such a restrictive account.

Did you read the account T&Cs?......really not impressed that the account you link to the Marcus account seemingly cannot be changed.
No risk to your fictitious credit score, as no credit search made...only an ID enquiry. If you want to change your linked account, you’ll need to contact us. We may ask you for information about your new linked account to make sure that it belongs to you.

Thanks for clarifying. Why is a credit rating fictitious?YorkshireBoy wrote: »Did you read the account T&Cs?
Yes. I've stated I'm not impressed with it. Why would the act of reading this information in the T&Cs make you think I'd suddenly be impressed with it?0 -
I didn't say a "credit rating" was fictitious. Thanks for clarifying. Why is a credit rating fictitious?
You can't have read them.Yes.
Because you'd realise you could change the linked account quite easily (and not only in the way I've quoted, but by other means...which you'll see when you read the T&Cs).I've stated I'm not impressed with it. Why would the act of reading this information in the T&Cs make you think I'd suddenly be impressed with it?0 -
No, just good manners.Didn't know I had to explain myself to you. Is that a forum rule?0 -

Are you the IT bloke out of series 2 of The Office? I didn't see Bruce Lee fight Chuck Norris in "ENTER" The Dragon. I saw Bruce Lee fight Chuck Norris in "WAY" Of The Dragon.0 -

Moving your money
When you applied for a Marcus account, we asked you to give us the details of a UK current account held in your name. This is your linked account, and it’s the only one you can use to pay money into your Marcus account.
