I would. Maybe not if I was looking for something very specific and hard to come by.....
When nothing remotely interesting hits your in-box in weeks, the flavour of the agent is the smallest concern.0 -
We bought a house through Purple Bricks. On the plus side for us, the vendor was not good at showing people around, and the pictures were poor, but we took a punt and had a look. Despite the no selling skills of the Vendor, we could see great potential, and the price was at least £30,000 below what other similar property in the area were/have been sold for. We were the first people to make a offer after 8 months on the market, and we came in under the already low asking price (been reduced 3 times in that 8 months). So we bagged a bargain thanks to PB, no one can believe the price we paid when we show them our new home.
In light of this I would never use them! We had an excellent local agent we sold our property through, and they done all the chasing up and down the chain as PB do nothing. Once we had our online offer accepted, all we got back from PB was the Vendors Name and Number, and a message saying they find it works better when buyers and vendors talk directly, so no chance of chasing progression on their part! We did also get PB calls trying to persuade as to use their conveyancing, surveyors etc. We made the wise decision and used a local company, as the Vendor used the PB solicitors, and they slowed things right down.0
