Section 75 Protection For a Bike Purchsed in the UK & Delivered to Spain

in Credit cards
Hi, are there any issues with s.75 protection if a bike is bought on a credit card online in the UK with delivery to an address in Spain. The main card holder will be making the purchase and receiving the delivery to a second home in Spain. I ask as the merchant in the UK has a range of poor feedback on Trustpilot, but is materially cheaper, so s.75 protection would probably swing the decision to use them.

They may say the delivery address must be with the same one as the card. How much have they quoted for delivery ?0

Hi, on their website, it is only £12 delivery to mainland Spain - much cheaper and less hassle than a £40 check in bag with Ryanair if I took it there myself. There is the option to have a different delivery address on their website.0

I would check the delivery company they would use to deliver it.£12
seems a bit dubious for delivery costs.0 -
Yes, it does seem cheap, and I may find that's an issue - it is a flat rate supplement and delivery would be free in the UK given the value of the order. However, I have researched delivery costs to Spain and for the size/weight of the bike boxed it can be sent with some mainstream couriers for only £10 more than a UK delivery.
Leaving that issue to one side, it was the protection from s.75 that I was looking to confirm to make sure I have a second line of defence should I have any problems with bike/delivery.0 -
I think on an issue as importance of this the best thing for you to do is to call the credit card company and ask them0

As long as it's for the card holders personal use then it would be fine.
If however other people are living at this address when the cardholder is not there then that would cause problems as them believing you would be problematic.0 -
If it’s not delivered you’ll be covered by chargeback anyway. No bank would take the loss on that via s75.
But as to the original question, where the goods are delivered to won’t affect any S75 claim should you need to make one.
You really want the main cardholder on the invoice also for debtor-creditor-supplier purposes, which kicks many s75 claims into touch before they even get going but isn’t generally known by the public.0 -

I don't get it. The sellers reputation suggests that you may have issues but you want to go ahead anyway just because it's cheaper. Why not go to a reputable seller and save yourself the grief?0
