anybody know warm air heating boiler insurer please

Hi my mother lives in a 1970 Bungalow and her's and all the ones in her cul-de-sac seem to have Johnson and Starley warm air heating systems fitted with ducting under the floor and vents in each room.

We are pretty sure the current boiler is over 10 years old but working fine but her regular engineer is retiring and so she wants to take out insurance on it for call outs if it goes wrong etc. We have phoned 3 companies and none of them cover warm air systems nor do they know who does so can anybody tell me a company that would cover a more than 10 year old Johnson and Starley warm air system please?

Any help/advice appreciated.

That was one of the reasons I replaced mine with radiators and a combi.


Mine was 25 years old.


The only one who would service it and repair it was BG. They kept putting the cost up every year and when it reached nearly £300 and they made me put a big vent in the outside wall in the kitchen that was the last straw.


The kitchen was freezing in the morning if the heating was off.
The rest of the house was OK if the kitchen door was shut.


I was using more than 18,500 kWh of gas a year, sometimes over 120 kWh a day on the coldest days.


Now I am using 14,500 kWh a year.
