Buildings and Contents renewal...

My renewal is in and I haven’t changed my insurer in years so I’ve used a comparison site....my insurer has said to contact them if there’s any changes...and there are a few...but it still won’t be a great reduction....I know policies taken as a new customer attract great discounts, so here’s the question.
If my insurance ends on the 9th, can I cancel the renewal and sign up on the 10th as a “new customer” to avail of the new customer discount?

No two ways about this one: Anything Free is not a Basic Right..it had to be earned...by someone, somewhere

Sometimes with a few companies existing customers can't get an online quote but generally you can ask to let the policy 'lapse' and then get a quote as a new customer.0
