Credit Refund from Green Network Energy

I'm in credit with Green Network Energy by £200+

I called and asked if that money could be refunded, but was told that while it is possible, my tariff would have to be reassessed, and that my bills would then be higher, due to it being winter.

That doesn't seem fair to me. Is there anything I can do?

Thanks.

£200 worth of credit at the start of a Winter season is not a significant amount. The supplier seems to be acting reasonably. If you insist on credit repayment, then it will re-assess your DD in-line with its terms and conditions which require at least enough money in your account to pay for a month’s supply of energy in advance of supply.

PS. Please do not confuse DD payments with a change of tariff. DD payments are nothing more than payments made on account from which usage charges are deducted.

Thank you for the quick reply.

My estimated bill for the year is around £550, so I think it is a significant amount. At least to me it is. And it would very much help with Christmas coming up.

I've just given them another meter reading, and will be calling them back on Monday for the revised amount.

Thank you for clarifying the tariff / DD situation. I hadn't really got that clear in my head.
