bw legal

Hi, advise needed please!!
Back in October 2016 i received a Parking charge notice from a local private parking company (PPS).I was parking in a carpark without showing my permit. Although I accept I was guilty as charged I decided to check online (not here) to see if I had to pay. The message I got back was mainly in favour of ignoring the fine as it can't been enforced. This is what I did, I ignored all letters from the company and low and behold they stopped coming.... Until now. Today, 2 years later I received a letter from bw legal telling me I need to pay in full within 16 days or it will seek Our Client's instructions to commence legal proceedings against me.
Has anyone been in this position before? or offer advise on what I should do? The outstanding balance is now £160, (£60 of which have been added as PPS's initial legal costs) A lot of money just before Christmas.
Thanks in advance

    That's a debt collector's letter.

Post #4 of[URL="https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread[/URL] offers comprehensive guidance on how to deal with debt collector's letters.

    To summarise - ignore it.

You need to see how to search the forum as we have loads of perfectly winnable BW Legal 'robo-claims' being currently defended v PPS.

Here's one from October, and BW Legal discontinued:

I set you the same task as owlsman, to read those threads mentioned. And you can ignore that letter but should reply to the next one (LBC). For now, send a SAR to PPS by email (as explained in the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread including all the forum acronyms in post #5 of the same sticky).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
