Anyone ever used Groupon as a 'merchant'?

Looking for advice on using Groupon for my massage business.
I really cant find much information on the site, what do they ask from you when setting up?
Is it a straightforward process or is there alot of paperwork involved?

Not for a 'service' business like yours, but I have sold goods through GroupOn - and to be honest there was a lot of paperwork and hoops to jump through to get set up, the process for invoicing is a little complicated and their commission pricing was a little vague and complicated to work out, but once we were up and running it worked pretty well and we got plenty of orders.

Wowcher was another one that seemed easier to set up, but their fee structure was even more complicated - especially around the VAT charges.

I would suggest getting your accountant to look at the fee structures, especially around who and when VAT is charged for and paid by, or you could end up not making as much as you expect from it. Again it may be different for a service business rather than a physical goods business.

To get anywhere near the daily email marketing campaigns and front page of the Groupon website you had to offer a crazy low best market deal and if you get on there you will sell a lot, but at the price you sell for will you actually make that much money for all the extra work?
