Fake PayPal payment scam- am I covered by Royal Mail?

    I am not really understanding how people are being scammed in this way.

    Your Ebay account clearly shows when an item has been paid for.

    They obviously don't check their Ebay or Paypal accounts and just go off the fake Paypal e-mail.

    Yes.

    But I do not understand why.

    I always work from my ebay account.
