Hi
I have finally got my act together and moving from BT in new year. However, they sent me an email last night advising that if I want to keep my email address, I will have to pay £7.50 per month, is this the norm?

Yes. They are providing a service so why should you get it for free now you’re no longer a customer?

Problem is you dont own the address and BT are not going to provide a service to a non customer FOC.0 -
If you set up a gmail (or similar) address you won't have to confront this again. You can direct your BT email to it as it will probably take them a while to cut it off even though you are not paying. Send an email to everyone in your address book although some will forget to update no matter how many times you do it!0
