Got his free a few months ago, its a 10 year old model and worked great when I first got it, I cleaned it out.
Only used it a few times before one day it didn't turn on so I replaced fuse and tried again, no difference then left it a few days and still no luck.
As a last change which may of been stupid I sprayed a tiny bit of WD40 on the switches in case there was a problem with them but no luck, left it a month turned it on and it came on first time, turned it back of and back on and it worked again first time, gave it one more try and again it worked, but didn't need to do the hoovering that day so left it until today.
Not working again, but with it being intermittent Im wondering if its the cable or the unit itself?

Wiggle the cable in a few different places, if it starts and stops intermittently whilst doing this then it's the wire. It may have a loose connection at the plug on in the motor, the motor could also be on it's way out.0
