Bathroom Blind

Options
I am looking to buy a roller blind for bathroom and confused about the backing - thermal or blackout?

The window is directly in front of basin so it is important that it can't be seen through from outside especially at night with the light on.

Also, it would be good if the backing didn't make the colour of the blind darker but privacy takes priority.
Can anyone advise?

I have a blackout blind. Can't help with how much darker it is as it's the only one I bought.
Maybe go to a shop and look at some.

We fitted a blackout blind in our downstairs bathroom due to outside lights coming on in the night. Normal blinds are not tranparent so should not be a problem unless like us outside lights disturb sleep. Surely the window has frosted glass.

The backing colour doesn't affect the colour of the front of it - if thats your worry. We have a blackout blind in one room and its white on both sides but does cut out all light.

As far as people not seeing in, I would think any standard blind would work fine too unless it were unusually thin.

Yes the window has frosted glass but I don't agree that blinds are not transparent.

I have had blinds previously and standing at the basin (starkers!) With the light behind me you can see the full outline and shadow if standing outside. Hence my need for some sort of backing to cut that out.
  • I have one of these roller blinds and have the same in verticals all through my home.https://www.247blinds.co.uk/rapture-blackout-whisper-roller-blind
It is a cream colour and it is totally opaque.
If you have the time look at the details given.
