Can anybody explain why some Outlook email folders can suddenly disappear. I'm not the only person this has apparently happened to. Sometimes I can find them subsumed in another folder and then days later they miraculously reappear.

I confess I don,t really understand how to rank the hierarchy of positioning prime and sub folders in Outlook. Can anybody point me to some idiots guide tips please as sometimes I find completely unrelated folders have disappeared and subsequently rediscover them hidden in other folders.

  • Has someone else got access to your account?

If I were you, I would change my password and see how quickly folders stop disappearing.

I have found that i get a bus ticket emailed to me, to my hotmail account, say Narional express and after a few weeks it totally disappears. I usually fwd it to my gmail account.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Even if you think no one has access to your email, change your password anyway. Someone might have it but trying to keep quiet about it. It could also be, if this isn't Outlook online, that your local outlook profile is corrupt.

You probably can't get more techie ignorant than this but I didn't even know I had a password for my Outlook email , so where would I access and find it?

Is this the same as the Power on password I have to type in when my computer first fires up, or the password which appears after that which fires up all the icons on my Desktop screen?. I wouldn't have a clue where on the machine I would go to change them.

(Yes I hear you screeching "Some people are not fit to be let loose to use computers" but some of us are not technically inclined.

Are you talking about the email software called Outlook (which is part of Microsoft's Office software) or Microsoft's free webmail service called Outlook?
