If you signed on as self employed would you be able to claim universal credit?
Would there be a work coach allocated for you and expected you to find other work while being self employed?

You would have to pass a gateway interview which assesses if you are actually self-employed and then if you are gainfully self-employed. A Minimum Income Floor will be set and any award UC will be based on this MIF whether you earn that much or not.
If you are not gainfully self-employed i.e. making a profit, then you would be expected to either do more with your business in order to make a profit or give it up and seek employment.0
