Using old green version, have somehow changed settings for thread display, and it is now narrow with large white edges at each side.
Can someone please advise the setting to make content wider, am unsure which setting this is.
Thank you

Hi,
try [STRIKE]Shift[/STRIKE] Ctrl and + keys at same time, or Ctrl and scroll wheel.0 -
Thanks for replying.
Unfortunately Shift and + doesn't work, don't have scroll wheel as using a laptop.0 -
Hi,
oops,, it's Ctrl and +.

Thanks very much frugalmacdugal, that worked a treat.
Very much appreciated, best wishes0 -
All that does is zoom the page (makes the text larger).
What browser are you using? I use Chrome and have the forum set to "New masthead, fixed width" (Green skin). I also use the Stylus extension with 2 styles applied:
MoneySavingExpert.com Forums - Complete Declutter
moneysavingexpert.com forums - max width
That gets rid of all the advertising clutter (top, left and right) and makes the thread display stretch to the browser width.0 -
Thanks DoaM for your input.
I use Chrome, and settings are 'New masthead, fixed width'.
Is the Stylus setting a Chrome extension?
Thanks for advice.0 -
Yes it is ... whilst it's possible to add the required styles manually the Stylus extension makes things simple.
Declutter:@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml); #MSEForumsRHS { display:none; } #theWrapper { display:none; } #forum_top_1336472146 { display:none; } #MSEResourceBar { display:none; } #footer { display:none; }
Max width:@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml); .forum_container { width: 99% !important; }

Thanks DoaM, will look at Chrome extensions later.
Thanks for your help.0 -
You can make all these changes without the need of an extension. A similar one got pulled earlier this year because it was spying on its users

In Firefox you just need to make the changes in the file userContent.css in the chrome folder in your profile.

Chrome removed the option for user stylesheets back in 2014 (at release 33) - I haven't seen anything to suggest it has been reinstated. Therefore the only option is an extension ... the "spying" version you're thinking of was Stylish ... Stylus is generally accepted as a "clean" extension.0
