I am not sure it Tesco have changed there policy or I have just been unlucky and picked the wrong checkouts, but in the last 2 weeks, after 3 trips to 3 different Tesco's (Chatham, Strood & Gillingham) armed with my vouchers I still have them in my wallet. All 3 checkout operators said we no longer accept them unless you have bought the products.
I said I have never had any problems before and they just said thats what we have now been told?
Anyone else had similar experiences recently? All 3 of these stores have happily accepted them up until now!

Barking and Beckton Extra simply never took them at all!
I even had an email from their head office but no joy!
Upton Park accepted 5 -0 -
personally its about time.
I hated the things when i worked there.Never new from one week to the next weather they were accepted or not.
About time the company stood on and said "if you dont buy the product, you can't use the coupon"
Ive known of good people who have lost their jobs over these.
Well done tesco.0 -
...but then I bought some yoghurts reduced to 10p and had 10p off vouchers for the products too and yet still couldn't use them!
The store had about 50 pots of these yoghurts undoubtedly about to be binned as this was around 9pm that day and still refused to accept the vouchers.0 -
Tesco self scan tills were accepting them last night:D
I find it is very hit & miss with check out staff accepting them, even when waving the head office confirmation email around. I can't blame the staff for playing it safe if they are not clear about the policy but I do blame the store managers for not investigating & making the policy clear after it has been questioned.Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
Tescos still accept Sainsburys and Asda coupons, there is a massive sign outside my tesco.Sugarmouse Money Supersaver!!0

Checked policy at my local, accept 3 vouchers for anything, then you need to buy the produce on the voucher.0

The newer stores have self scan tills, and in mine the coupons go through fine. Just don't take the mickey with them..... if you put through too many it alerts a member of staff to authorise them. Just use a couple of quid a time maximum if you don't want to draw attention to yourself, and no more than three coupons at any time.0

portsmouth stores refuse to accept coupons despite head office e mail. About time head office got their act together and sorted national policy so we knew where we stood.0

I recently used a large number of coupons at my local store and did not buy the products. She accepted most of them, but gave me five back saying that I could use them another time.I'm so sexy it's a wonder my underpants don't explode.0

I got refused with a voucher the other day. The casher said "they are getting more strict now with vouchers".
Like you say it seems to be hit and miss.SW: Wk1 (5) Wk2 (2.5) Wk3 - Wk 4 (4) Wk 5 - (1.5) Wk 6 (1) Total off 1 stone!:j0
