Good Evening,
I need some advice, I got into debt some years ago but paying everything off now and keep an eye on my credit file which was improving but SSL CAPITAL who I have been paying for the past two years through step change only put the account on my credit file in Sept 18 with it showing I had 6 months of late payments and when I queried this they said it was 6 months late when the original debt started but it makes it look like I have just started the debt with 6 months of late payments which has reduced my credit report and they won't change it as they say it's now reported correctly.
Is this right?
Thanks

The original default date should be within 6 months of when you defaulted.
Monthly updates should continue to show the account is defaulting until settled.0 -
Hi,
No default on the account, they have only added the debt to my credit file after two years and it makes it looks like I have missed 6 months of payments when I have paid them regularly.
The 6 months missed was over two years ago to the original company before they brought the debt.0 -

SLL capital are debt collectors.
Even if they were collecting on behalf of the creditor they can't possibly believe that your relationship with the creditor hasn't broken down.
The account should be defaulted no later than when you went into a DMP, but most likely far earlier than this.
Write to them and threaten them with a report to the ICO. They're not reporting information correctly.0
