Parking Charge Notice due to mis-typing my car registration number

I visited Bradgate Park in Leicestershire yesterday where we met with my sister-in-law. Upon arrival my wife bought 2 parking tickets, one for our car and one for her sister’s. When we retuned to the cars after our walk my sister-in-law’s car had a ‘Parking Charge Notice’ on it which we initially didn’t understand as the car parking ticket was displayed in clear view. Upon closer examination of the ticket though we realised that my wife had typed the wrong numerical figures from the car registration into the ticket machine (04 rather than 08); we assume that this was the reason for the Parking Charge Notice being issued on the assumption that the ticket had been transferred from another car. I have photos showing our 2 cars parked together and the 2 tickets bought one straight after the other (timestamped and serial numbered). I submitted an appeal to the parking company (Spring Parking) yesterday which was rejected within a few hours without explaining why - I can now raise an appeal to POPLA but in doing this loose the option of a reduced charge (£55 vs £95).

Can anyone please adivse - what is the sucess rate for POPLA appeals for genuine cases line this and is it even legal for Spring Parking to charge my £95 for a typo error on my ticket?

Many thanks!!

Did anyone give away the driver's identity when the initial appeal was made? I hope not. Who actually appealed?

Please read the sticky thread for NEWBIES, especially post 3, and construct a draft appeal using all the template points from there that are relevant.

Post your draft here for checking before you submit it.

Get photos of the site and signs if possibe for use in the appeal.
