Claimant Commitment

Does UC have a claimant commitment like job seekers allowance?

How does it work if the person is claiming carers allowance caring responsibilities for 35 hours per week?

Are they still expected to be looking for work hence visiting job centre every 2 weeks to sign on?

Yes it has a commitments, however if a carer, it's just like claiming CA and IS as of old.

All work related activities will be switched off.

Do you apply for carers allowance first or universal credit first?

The person you are caring for must be receiving a disability benefit first. Then you can claim carers allowance.

Nothing stopping you claiming UC and having the caring activity verified. You don't have to be receiving carers allowance to receive carers element under UC. UC will check that the person you are caring for is receiving a disibility benefit.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

You would have an auto commitment which states you have to declare any changes and attend any interview at the job centre but these will be few and far between. You won't be allocated a work coach so send any journal messages to the case manager

If they already have a carer but require another carer can both carers claim?

No it's just like carers allowance, only one person can claim as a carer per any disabled person.
