Lidil parking fine

Hi all,

Apologies, this may have been answered 1000x,

around October time, I decided to go Lidil in tooting not my normal shopping branch anyway tooting had ran out of stock for the deal of week offer. so I ended up buying one or two things for under £2.00 then left my car there to go buy few things from high street, I scanned the receipt. anyway I ended up staying for 1:44min and therefore was issued a ticket.

I didn't contact lidil or Athena ANRP and ignored it, but later this week got a letter in post for final demand in which they state they will involve county court and bailiffs warrant to my (dads house as I live at home) I know maybe ignoring wasn't best idea, but I read a lot that it was a scam...

would I be advised to pay the full £90 or if not to late appeal ? I mean I only did £2.00 worth shopping from that branch and overstayed by 14mins as 1:30min is free anyway right ?

would be grateful for any advice and apologies if this is of any repeat post.

thanks.

The advice to ignore has not been given here since the law changed in 2012.

Contact the Lidl store manager and/or CEO about this and ask for it to be cancelled. Some stores have to allow parking for other shops as part of their planning application, so it is worth finding out what the council planning department have to say about this. There may also be a council stipulation about the length of the parking time.

Please read the sticky thread for NEWBIES then send the appeal template from The Keeper to Athena in blue you will find there. Don't be surprised if they say it is too late.

If/when it is rejected you go into ignore mode unless you get real court papers.

I doubt the word bailiffs was used in the reminder/final demand you received. Read it carefully to see what it actually says.

edit your post and remove the following words (if any)

    "MY , ME , MYSELF & I"

there is no place for them on a public forum

the correct words are THE DRIVER for what happened on the day and THE KEEPER for anything since

You now need to scan the letter, remove your personal info, upload to a free hosting site and then link here using hxxp, not http and someone will make it live

We really need to see this letter first
  • @fruitcake- thank you very much for your response. Was helpful. I understand as per previous threads proof of purchase is required, receipt has been misplaced, only bank statement is available, will they accept? Will draft a letter today. Also should I address it to both lidil and Athena ?

@redx- thank you shall edit now.

@beamerguy- thank you, unfortunately I don’t have a scanner. Is there any other way I can attach it on here ?

    Thanks all.

If you just search the forum for LIDL (no extra 'i') you will find how to cancel this, one email (not an appeal). The CEO email is on every single Lidl thread you read.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
