Another question about Sony laptop:
Sony Vaio SVF152C29M. Using Windows 8.
Will not play DVDs. It has a DVD drive - but does not play any when inserted.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Or laser's gone in the DVD drive. No software will fix this, a new drive would be needed.0

Have you tried a few different disks? - Only mention that as I've ran into this where there are now a few formats of higher capacity DVDs.
My Laptop will only play standard ones and I've bought a couple of releases more recently only to find it won't play them, but my DVD player will.0 -
Does the laptop acknowledge that there is a disk in the drive ?
Can you browse the contents, or is it as if there is no disk ?

Thanks for all the replies.
I haven't got the DVD with me at the moment.
I'll try a few and see.0
