As above, have set the detection sensitivity on my Ring Doorbell Pro to 'persons only' but its still detecting glare from car headlights as they drive towards our driveway, any suggestions please to prevent it?
Its not always done it, only the last few weeks, but seems to be getting worse. It now triggers on a dull, overcast day with car headlights
The driveway is quite long so i do need the detection zone to reach right up to the perimiter

£229 at Amazon, if it's the same one! Apparently gone are the days when Ring products were cheap - and nasty.
Since the blurb says that it uses motion detection, then car headlights and people walking are probably types of motion?
A question for their technical support, I would suggest...0 -
A bit of an overkill for a doorbell.
Get a cheap wireless one & put it at the end of the drive ??
Technology gone mad.0 -
Its more plausible the motion detector uses infrared which will trigger on a heat source, which suggests its not the headlights that are causing the issue, it'll be the heat from the engine it can see. If the thing goes off every time a cat or similar goes across the vision then that's your trigger.0

Set a more restrictive motion zone?

Hi Neil
It's set to detect 'persons only' as it is, and the motion zone is only set on our driveway, it finishes at the end of the driveway so definately not picking up engine heat. Strange as its not always done it, only the last few weeks, was fine all spring and summer...
I'll give Ring a call or live chat them tomorrow0 -

Just had a quick read and it mentioned reflections off shiny surefaces, or driveway is in need of a jet wash so it could actually be surface grease/grime reflecting headlights causing it to trigger0
