Online SORN Application LLP
Just wondered if anyone had any experience of completing an online SORN application only to then receive a Late Licensing Penalty (LLP)?
I followed the various screens clicking on the 'Make SORN' buttons each time, including the final one. I've now received a LLP as apparently my application was 'abandoned by user'. I did not abandon the application, I had no reason to. It now transpires that the DVLA software I used was a BETA version. Wondering what the legal position is if a user does everything correctly in submitting a SORN application online but the application succumbs to BETA software issues once it has been submitted?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

Did you receive the confirmation email?
Yes, it's flagged as "beta" - always has been, probably always will be. I've used it regularly, for various vehicles, and never had any problem.0 -
The email address and mobile number options are both optional (I didn't select either) so I didn't get an email confirmation.0

So it's simply your word that you did complete the SORN, against their computer systems which have time-and-date-stamped contemporary records of you not doing so...0

If you did not abandon the application then the final screen advises you of the current date, time, registration mark, vehicle make and unique reference number for your application. So contact the DVLA and advise them of your reference number. No reference number? Then the DVLA are right, you failed to finish the job.
Whenever I declare SORN online, the email arrives before I close the browser window.0
