The Ebay Goldmine Thread

Ebay is a law unto itself. Something that may sell high one week will bomb the next.
Instead of looking for things to sell at car boots and charity shops try your own stuff you may be surprised. For example a little toy you bought a few years ago in Home Bargains for 99p may be worth a lot more than you think like mine was - it sold for £35. My son was thrilled to bits as it was his toy and he got the money for something that was a ten minute wonder one Christmas.0 -

Instead of trying to find that one magical item that sells for 1000% profit margin on eBay, why don't you choose your business first and then pick the market to sell your stuff on? Choose something you already have access to or you already know about, that has a good margin attached to it, and then sell that product or service on the appropriate venue.
There are a lot of things you could do, depending on your interests and the resources available to you. If you like to knit, you could go on etsy and sell custom made jumpers. If you have a van, you could offer a delivery service on eBay and Gumtree. If you have chickens, you can sell eggs, if you grow things in your garden you can sell seeds. If you buy a bunch of cheap stuff and put it together in pretty packaging you can sell gift baskets and hampers. If you have a skill that you can teach to others, you can sell your time as a tutor. If you're unscrupulous you can wrap up boxes of junk from the poundshop and sell them as "unwanted gifts" on eBayIf you have nothing, you could pick up free stuff from Facebook marketplace and sell it on eBay, Gumtree or Loot.
Take a good look at the resources you have. What skills or services can you offer, what can you make, what can you buy cheaply? Those are the things you should sell! Once you know what those things are, you can find the most appropriate place to sell them.Well informed on the subjects of sofas and wood furniture, and well opinionated on everything else :rotfl:0 -
Look at the sold prices of Men's nylon shirts, the type sold in the 60's and 70's, sometimes called Bri nylon. (look at Men's Vintage Clothing.)
I got a shock when I saw some of these sell for £60-£117.0 -
Don't mind anyone knowing about mine. It was a Denby Butter Dish bought for £1 in the charity shop last week. Sold for £32 on Ebay.0
