Hi everyone,
My wife and I have just bought our first home, and as it stands the house is very run down and requires major works. One key thing the house is lacking in is insukation. I can see from previous searches that there were a few government grants for heating and insulation, however I cannot seem to find any current deals or grants. Does anyone know of any legitimate and active scheme's that would help with the cost of making the house more energy efficient ?
Thank you

Yes. A new scheme (Eco3) come into play on the 1st October but has yet to be ratified by Legislation. This link should give you an idea about eligibility:

The main change for insulation under ECO3 is that all funding will now be available through the Affordable Warmth scheme rather than CERO (Carbon Emission Reduction Obligation). This means that successful applicants must be in receipt of one of the benefits or tax credits in the table above.
Other than that, it is expected that the rules for installing cavity wall insulation and loft insulation under ECO will be little changed from the present situation:
Cavity Wall Insulation (CWI) – Can only be installed under ECO3 if the property is suitable to have CWI installed and that it has never been installed in that property before.
Loft Insulation – Can only be installed under ECO3 in properties with less than 100 mm of insulation at the time of the ECO survey.
