Chromebook question

Options
Prior to Chromebook, if I wanted to rt clic and "save to desktop" for easy access, (to send in messenger/email) I could, frequently.

Chromebook doesn't seem to allow this, does anyone know if it can be done, or if I have to use another route?.

I don't think you can save to the desktop on a Chromebook as it does not have a "desktop" as a location for files as far as I am aware. You would have to save it to a location within the file system and use the Files app to find it if you need it.

Chromebook's main selling point is that it has very little local storage so everything is stored online in your google drive.
The only place you can save items locally is in the Downloads folder (or create a new folder inside Downloads, even one called Desktop if you prefer).
This local folder should be fairly easy to find if you need it.
