Contact existing suppliers of energy and water - read the meters - give them your readings and ask for account(s) to be set up.
Contact council, give them your movein date, ask for council tax bill and ask for single person's dicount if on your own.
Tell everyone you pay bills/money to your new address.
Tell DVLA/DVLC your new address if you drive/have a car
Set up a savings account and put lots of money in it every month for emergencies
Maybe organise a small party for the neighbours so you can suss them out
And a myriad other things which you will surely think of.0 -

In addition to fab lists above - as own and not a rental, money for emergencies is vital. Also, if any issues act promptly (e.g. on a water leak) as saves loads of money and disruption0
