Do Capital One have an email address? (Proof of ID on longstanding account)

Hi all,
I got married and changed my address recently. I've had a Capital One credit card since 2011. I destroyed the card and hadn't been using it except to make some payments to it, but I wanted to use it for a Christmas purchase.
So I called their Customer Services in order to order a new card and, after changing my details on their system, they then told me I couldn't have a new card until I proved my new address and provided my marriage certificate. I was told this would take them about a month to process. I cleared security questions dating back to 2011 and it seems odd they'd change my details but not give me a replacement card without (apparently) being sure I am who I say I am, but anyway...
This is fine, except I only have a scanner and they're giving me a PO Box or fax number. Does anyone have details of an email address I can scan these documents to? It would make things a lot easier.

I don't believe they have an email address. Do you have access to a fax machine at work?I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job0 -

Thanks for your reply. They might have the facility on one of the fancy photocopiers, but I'm not back in the office until the New Year.
Technological troglodytes...:/ Maybe I should skip a few instalments and let them prove my identity instead.0 -
There are online fax services which allow sending of files from PC/tablet/mobile to a fax number, such as https://www.efax.co.uk/ (which offers a free trial) - other such services are available, Google 'free online fax' or similar....0

Probably simpler and quicker to just cancel the capital one account and just apply for a new card!
You'll save money if you go for a 0% one too.0 -

Thanks. I was hoping to avoid using third party sites, but I've done it with efax. Probably the quickest way.
I don't get why they'd change my details and then ask for proof -- that is super !!! backwards.
Edit: the fax number they gave me doesn't work. (0115 843 3438). At least not when I try to use it via efax (441158433438).
Edit: I called them and they don't have a fax number apparently. Post only.
Why do I bother with these clowns? That's an hour of my life I won't get back.0 -

So you mean you phoned them to say you've changed your name, as well as your address - and at the same time, you're asking them to send you a new card.
Taking a step back, I guess it's not surprising that Capital One are doing some rigorous checking.
Otherwise it would be a great way to commit fraud.0 -

Not complaining about needing evidence, just the 19th Century way they're asking me to do it. I have everything they require, but they'll only take photocopies, and only by post. I work in local government where technology tends to hearken back to the stone age, and we have more ways for you to get that information to us than a massive financial institution.
I am annoyed that they didn't request proof before changing my information, though, as I've been told I could still have used the card in my maiden name and have had it sent to my old address (family home). Because they've done it backwards, I cannot use the account at all for at least a month.
I'll just pay off the card and cancel the account. By the time I get the replacement, what I wanted to use it for will be long gone anyway.0 -
Just make sure you now check your Capital one credit reference agency info...Credit wise.
Odd things can happen when you close accounts...like reporting your in arrears/missed payments and owe a balance from 8 years back, that kind of random clap trap.
Worst credit card company ive ever dealt with.0
