Vista Black Right Hand Side Of Screen?

hi,

i hope someone can help as i have just completed a new istall of vista premium on my dell 5150 and on the desktop there is a black line about 2 inches thick to the far right hand side of the screen which i cant seem to get rid of?

any ideas how i can get rid of this would be much appreciated!

    Have you tried using the inbuilt monitor controls to adjust the size/location of teh image on the screen??

    problem with windows sidebar perhaps?

    that is a good point! What happens if you turn it off by going

    START>CONTROL PANEL>APPEARENCE & PERSONALISATION>Windows Sidebar Properties and untick the box at the top (then reboot)

    hi sorry it was my fault i forgot there was an auto display button on my new monitor to sort this out and it did!

    its very easy to get stressed out by such things and miss the obvious. i have done it loads of times.
