I am a Carer to my children and currently claim CA. My partner is self employed and works 30 hours a week. We also receive CTC and WTC.
My partner is considering cutting his hours to help caring for our children and making a claim for CA.
We live in a live UC area.
Will this trigger a claim for universal credit? Thank you in advance.

No, CA isn't part of UC. Only 1 person can claim CA for someone. so 2 children need to be claiming a qualifying benefit for you both to be able to claim it.I am a Carer to my children and currently claim CA. My partner is self employed and works 30 hours a week. We also receive CTC and WTC.
