anyone know if they really work ? I always thought you needed a box to change the scan rate rather than a 4 quid lead ? Having gone and bought a laptop without an svid out this would be handy to watch DVD on hotel tv's...

Never used this one myself but i don't see why it wouldn't work. Although (looking at the pic) i think you would need male to male AV leads to plug into the AV sockets on the telly, or to plug into a scart...i think!0

You say you have an S-video socket so all you need is an S-video to Scart lead. I've a scart plug with set of phono inputs and a svid and a whole load of phono to phonos and s to s's.
