Bus pass photo

I have been quoted £10 for a bus pass photo.
Is there a cheaper way to get a passport quality photo? I only need one.

There was a thread on here a couple of days ago. Think it had passport photo in the title...

I've just tried to find it and it seems to have been deleted. Sorry.

The gist of it was take your own photo, upload it to a website which sizes it, then take it into Boots and use their photo printing machine to run a copy off for a few pence. Perhaps the website wasn't legitimate - odd the thread seems to have gone.
  • bus pass photos only have to be passport size and style - not passport quality. You can print at home on plain paper and cut it out.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

Really easy to use, print a single photo in Boots, Tescos etc.

My local authority also lets you apply on-line - here are their requirements for the photo. no printing is needed.

    1. Get your photo ready
To apply online you will need either a digital photo loaded onto your computer or a webcam. Your photo should be similar to a passport photo, ie:
      • Ideally taken against a light background
      • Your photo should be in colour
      • Make sure your hair is not covering your eyes
      • Tinted glasses or sunglasses should be taken off if possible
      • Should be focused on your face and not contain any background objects
If you are uploading a photo from your computer, please check now that the photo you plan to use is:
      • Roughly the same shape as a passport photo (35mm x 45mm)
      • No smaller than 132px x 170px and no larger than 264px x 340px
      • A file size of 200kb or less
  • Many thanks for the very helpful replies

Depends on Local Authority - ours combines a bus pass with a library card, apply for the library card, photo taken by librarian, use library card for bus pass, also local shop discount scheme. It's called an e-card.
