Getting different credit cards for different things?

I have read all the credit card guides and I am still confused with regards to spending/not spending and balance transfer cards. I have just got a mint card for balance transfers but I noticed it also has 0% on purchases until Juune 2008. SO can I use it for purchases as well seeing as I won't be paying interest??
If not, is there a recommended waiting time before applying for another credit card for spending? I am thinking of the Post Office card. I only applied for the Mint card today. I wasn't that confident I was going to get it but since I did would that now go in my favour when applying for another one soon?
Many thanks

Ideally, I'd say to apply for more than one card at the same time. That way, provider 1 can't know about application 2 and vice versa, as the credit reports take time to be updated. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

I don't think that is quite the case. The second lender to do the credit check will see the earlier credit check because the appear on your credit file more or less in realtime. However, they will not see what credit limits they each give you so there are benefits in doing a couple of applications at the same time ... providing your credit file is in good shape.Stephen_Leak wrote: »Ideally, I'd say to apply for more than one card at the same time.
