Conveyancing Solicitor Bedford

Hi all, i am wondering if anyone can recommend a good conveyancing solicitor in the Bedford area? and what i should expect to be looking at payment wise on a house valued @ 164k (conveyancing fees etc.

any help appreciated as i am new to the area and don't want to pay over the odds if i can help it (obviously!)

Hi Mike, I have just bought a flat in bedford and the vendors were using a guy called Ian Melville (he was working for himself but has now gone back to a solicitors I think Park Woodfines) DO NOT use this man he was just dreadful - i think he takes on too much and therefore he is just too busy to give any job real attention.

I haven't used a conveyancer and the solicitors i used, Cowley Di Giorgio, are not the cheapest but my purchase for £117k leasehold flat was quoted at £650 + vat and I had extra costs due to problems with lease so bill has come in at just under £1000.:eek:
