Log Cabin

Currently considering an idea to build a log cabin in Wales and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with a business like this?
The Cabin will be at a high standard and sit on owned land, it is important to know I'm not going for a cabin that you'd see on a caravan park, but one that will be well thought through an more importantly unique.
Main questions:
Can I make a profit?
If your experienced what problems should I look out for?
And generally any other guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Your first hurdle is going to be persuading your local authority to give planning permission. Some LAs offer informal discussions to let you know what they would consider acceptable.0

That is great HaiAnhTran,
I do intend to expand the cabins if the business is successful.
Obviously, you have multiple you see it as a successful business?
Can I ask where your cabins are located?0 -
What would make your cabin(s) unique?
Bear in mind there would have to be something in the area for the residents to do - is there?
Does that need already exist - or similar - in the area?0 -
Depends where you are and whether it's just the one cabin you're thinking of and if you want it to be mobile / without planning hassle or you're going for the full Monty mother of all log cabins.
A general idea where you are and whatnot and I'll come back to you0 -
I have 2 close friends who have or are going through this . both on the welsh border . both own the land themselves . I also own a cabin/more like chalet with other wooden chalets and statics on a commercial holiday home in Snowdonia . I at one time was planning to self build 9 pitches for statics / cabins & 8 touring caravans on a small field close to a country pub (not my pub but with the backing of the owner) in wales . The council had me jumping through hoops and the residents caused too much problems with misinformation whispers etc (travelling camp to immigration camp to swinging naturists ) The idea and passion to see it happen left me . give us more info as to the idea where and how many you're thinking of . hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

I'd be interested to hear how you get on as one of my business ideas for when I semi-retire is to build some log cabins as holiday homes.
How much is the cabin costing, if you don't mind me asking?Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080
