If you are using Bodmas then
Brackets (parts of a calculation inside brackets always come first).
Orders (numbers involving powers or square roots).
Division.
Multiplication.
Addition.
Subtraction.

So the sum would be: 3x6+4= (as multiplication comes before addition.) so the answer is 22.

I'm no math genius but I agree with 42 as the answer (I think MsDee's theory only applies if any sums are in brackets?).

4+3x6 = 22 because it is evaluated as 4+(3x6)
