Morning everyone,
Last night I made dinner and started painting over the marks on the walls of the flat where the previous tenants had hung things. I recon I will repaint completely at some point but for now, and considering I'm renting, the odd scuff or splatter is just my version of OCD. I also had my first football training last night at 9pm. My colleague, whose also plays for them, was late in arriving so I had to introduce myself to the boys and they were all nice enough. I think they want me to play on Sunday morning, so I must have done something right.
My mum, step-dad and gran are coming down tomorrow for the weekend. I'm looking forward to letting my gran see my flat and the nice area, it'll give her peace of mind too. So I need the flat to be spic and span (hence the painting).
Tonight though, I have a busy one. My favourite football team (Rangers) are playing tonight and I've quickly found out that it won't be as easy for me to watch the matches down here. I think a few of my colleagues are going to join me in finding a local where we can watch it hopefully. After that, I need to make my dinner and finish tidying up. I was also considering making a chocolate orange cake for them but that is very much time dependant.
Oh and I called the hotel, thanks to the persuasion from you. I thought I read her name badge as Charlie and so I tried to check online if that was right but nothing came up. Anyway, I called and asked for her and the person I spoke with corrected me and said her name was Charlene and that she finished at 4. I asked to take down my number and pass it to her as I'd like to say thanks for helping find my jacket. So, job done it seems. But now I had her correct name, I checked online again and quite scarily the first thing that came up was her Facebook page. And to my disappointment she already has a man. Damn! So if she calls, I'll show her my gratitude and leave it there. But that you all for the encouragement. I wouldn't have done it without you.
Tru - it might be worth taking pictures and date marking them, to show the progress of any damage and if the proverbial does hit the fan further down the line, you've got the proof to say "I told you so"
TA - Kicking the table leg? Is that a saying? Or does she literally kick the table leg? haha.
RR - Aw that's amazing news. I've never heard of it happening like that either, a really good idea. You must be chuffed to bits0 -
SPEKY ha ha no she doesn't literally kick the table leg. I have never thought of it before but it must just be a local saying if it's not one you are acquainted with - meaning getting impatient for your dinner to arrive on the table! You'll have to get used to these daft Northern sayings! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Morning. Working this morning then on to school but off this afternoon good I will read my book. Washing done put on rack hopefully it will be dry for later.
Lamb for tea tonight my favourite with lots of mint sauce0 -
Morning all, although it's so dark it looks more like night time . It's lashing down here and very blustery.
I was up earlier than usual as I misread the clock . I have asked Santa for a new one with a clearer readout.
Dad came to tea yesterday but his wrist was dripping with blood . It seems he had a fall just before he left home and didn't have a plaster big enough, so nurse Nan and Dr Fix It to the rescue. He had taken off the skin on the big wrist bone, it looked worse than it was but I think he'll be sporting some bruises today too.
I have earache this morning, not something I really suffer with, but hopefully a couple of paracetamols will sort it. I have another appointment at the surgery this afternoon, it's a late one so I will just potter about till then, but I need to put the hoover on downstairs in any case.
I think I shall rearrange the freezers too, so that the Xmas party stuff is all together instead of being here, there and everywhere ! Mr Fix It is in the shed again, so I hope it stays firmly planted in this wind.
Tea tonight will be a jacket potato with ? ..... I don't know yet  , I'm sure I can find something in the freezer.
Nelski you made me laugh with the wizard of oz analogy. That really put the wind up me ( pun intended ) :rotfl:
Speky sorry that the lady was taken. There will be someone out there for you I'm sure. Nice to see you getting along with your new mates though.
RedRuby congrats to your DD and BF :happyhear
Tru sorry about your tree problems. Some people can be so awkward towards others
ScarlettR I have the opposite sleep problem. I have trouble dropping off, but once I'm asleep I usually stay asleep.
I hope all the poorlies get better and the peeps with sleep problems get them solved soon. I did send the Sandman out last night but I think he may have been blown off course, I'll dispatch him again tonight, with a sat nav this time
Take care and stay safe.

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one and Congratulations to RR's daughter. A novel way of doing it. DGD's now husband did a similar thing, except no one knew, they went out for lunch and he went down on one knee in front of a full restaurant!! Very brave of him is he is shy and lack some self confidence.
Its a very blustery morning, I have been to Aldi and done the shopping, picked up some tins of steak and chicken for the store cupboard in case of bad weather. I refuse to go out if its snowy or icy after the debacle earlier this year.
TA I hope all goes well tonight with the grand daughters, it must be poignant for you all. (((hugs)))
I had a better night last night, fell asleep reading, woke about 6am for the loo and went back to sleep. Up and out by 8.30, Left OH in bed.
I am starting sorting the fabric for the last runner, I had to trim the other one down a bit, I can then do the backing and binding all in one go.
We did have a bit of good news yesterday, OH is now getting the higher rate of AA. I am going to up the gardener to every week when he starts again in the spring. All I need to do now is find someone to sit for a couple of hours so I can get out on my own for a while. When I go shopping and leave him, I rush to get back. Very wearing on the nerves. It needs to be someone he gets on ok with......not easy!!
Sausage and bean casserole with veg for supper tonight. I think we will have banana for dessert.0 -
Morning all,
I thought I'd done a good tidy up of the toy cupboard yesterday but with both DGC here last night it was all in vain.Groundhog day shortly then , especially as I have a friend calling this afternoon- visitors always spur me on
I've discovered that I can no longer get to the top of my highest kitchen cupboards, I used to use a kitchen stool but we've changed them and the seats are curved to fit your rear so I can't use them anymore. It's a good job DS was in, I wanted lentils for the soup with the ham shank I was doing for tea.I'm going to look for a stepladder,we do have a little one but it's not high enough.
Scenic route back from school again this morning. There are some roadworks ( minor) that are causing long tailbacks.Right I mustn't linger, jobs to do.
RRuby that's lovely news, congratulations to them both :T
Aww Speky, shame the girl was spoken for but at least you know before you made contact again.
Hugs to the poorlies,& take care in the storms,Gers it sounds awful near you

Speky, even though Charlene is already in a relationship, a thank you never goes amiss and now that you've taken the plunge, perhaps you might be less shy next time.
Still pouring, wind howling and I am inside with no need to go out woohooI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning all
Slept late today ,it was so warm, and outside is blowing a gale and lashing it down so I just stayed put. Did nothing yesterday, didn't go to sewing either, was just too tired. Will drink a ton of water today and see if that helps. Big doc on Monday so will see if anything can be done.
Made the spaghetti sauce and chilli the day before yesterday but OH went out yesterday so chilli went in firdge and I was going to have the sugo, but then fancied a corned beef sandwich so parcelled up the sugo in the freezer instead for another day
Need to cupboard stock shop as well, also need to go to abbatoir butcher and get some beef rib for christmas, it's my favourite. Along with cauliflower cheese and all the usual trimmings it's lovely.
It's so dark here now I need to put the light on in the living room!
Tru, that's a cocktail, it'll do, have you tried dark and stormies? Rum, ginger ale, lime, angostura bitters, it goes down almost as non alcoholically tasting as long island iced tea...Favourite rum is Red Leg, just on it's own with ice....and to mr. tru, you go girl!
nanny, I know you're making a chaise/bed type thing, but it really does sound intriguing, hence the question, it's beginning to sound like a chinese puzzle bed... red ruby, how cute! and the hidden ring in the cake, it's like the opposite of prison cakesnever mind Speky, if she decides her current one is rubbish, she might decide to give you a ring...
Happy almost another week done ThursdayNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Taff I have PM'd you xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0

Got back from Aldi with a ridiculous amount of shopping which took forever to put away. I'm glad that's done though and now, until after the dreaded C, I should be able to avoid the SM's and just use the smaller less crowded shops.
DS was a big help with all the packing and lifting. He got a text in the midst of it from his boss - "Don't know what your plans are this morning but please get here asap!" He should have been starting at 2.00 so it sounds like there's trouble at t'mill! They have recently been taken over and and a new computer system has been thrust on them and it's causing chaos. If DS wasn't getting fed up before he is now!
I thought we were managing to avoid the gales and rain but we have just been hit with a vengeance. The rain is battering the back windows so hard it's frightening. Glad I don't have to venture out again.
Take care all xxx ps Aw how sweet RR! xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
