car warranty refund
purchased a used car from Evans Halshaw.
had numerous problems in first 3 months so asked for exchange of car.
dealer accepted to refund value of car but is refusing to refund or transfer a 2 year £500 warranty bought with car. the t&c's state it cant be refunded or transferrred BUT in the case of a car rejection surely i shouldnt be out of pocket?
the dealer has instead offered the same warranty on the exchanged car at £399, so thats £899 for a 2 year warranty.

I think you should quit while you are ahead - good job with getting your money back from your car.
If the T's and C's state there is no refunds or transferred then the warranty company cannot transfer it - only a goodwill gesture from the supplying dealer - see if you can get another warranty for less than £400 - although anything apart from a main dealer warranty are generally worthless.0 -
Personally, I'd have a chat with the actual warranty company to have a go, but if not have to suck it up

Hi there
I just wondered if you were successful in recieving a refund for the warrenty? I am in the same position with Evans Halshaw where they have sold me a car which is faulty and I am really concerned about loosing money on the car and or the warrenty! Any tips on how to deal with it would be gratefully recieved!

Consider the £500 a write off, but save yourself another £399 by putting the money into a bank account for if and when your car needs something fixing.
These warranties are a rip-off.
If you'd done that in the first place, you'd have a £900 fallback if you had some car trouble."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
