Hi all
I applied for a job London and New employer has sent Reference Request Form to my Former Employer in India.
I have some doubts as to my previous employment Dates around 7 years ago in India.
In my Job Application Form I mentioned Dates for starting and ending previous job as I forgot exact dates.. But I'm sure that I hv put correct MONTH & YEAR. .But not sure about Dates..
I think previous employer will give correct dates in his Reference. So what should I do ?
Will these different in Dates affect getting New Job?
Shall I write a leter to New Employer explain this.
Please help me.. My advance thanks.

No, I wouldn't worry about it. 7 years ago, in a different country? (Not that the latter really makes any difference). If the month is correct, I think that will be fine. If they ask you about it at interview you could always explain that you don't have a record of the exact dates.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

I would allow for upto two months difference in case of long term employment.
I think any sensible manager would do similar0 -
It'll be fine. Unless you're a long way out, even a month would be understandable for jobs that had some time ago. Don't worry about it.' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0

Dears.. please .. I forgot to mention. As its more than 7 , 8 years, I ddnt take any letters of recommendation from Employer after I left work . I just can remember company's name , month year and works I involved in that company. What I wrote in the application form has 2 spelling mistakes . ex. if the company name is, Hestians ltd , I wrote it ' Haztians ltd '' . I put za instead of es .. Therefore, I have given 2 spelling mistakes and different dates .
I am bit nervous ,because company sent a mail saying if any inconsistency in information may delay the process. .
Also mentioned that if this Reference has been sent by email it is acknowledged that no company stamp / compliment slip / letter headed paper will be available. To ensure compliance with BAA policy therefore, the email history chain must kept intact. In the last page its said that please authenticate reference by using your company stamp in the space provided, or by attaching a compliment slip/headed paper.
My former employer said he would fill up all questions and authenticate by using the company stamp in the space given in the form and scan all docs , then will send to co's mail. My questions are ;
should I ask employer to post the original forms filled with a blank co letter head paper to co address after sent by mail ?
What is BBA Policy and how it will verify email reference ?
I wll be very grateful if advice given. Thanks0 -

If the email from previous employer has what is clearly a business rather than free-mail address and keeps the original request in the thread, then I see no problem.0 -
An Indian company? If so, presumably the original company name is in an Indian language, and any phonetically similar name is completely understandable. I think it's very unlikely indeed that a difference like this would delay an application process for more than 2 or 3 seconds.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
